Anna Gerasi, the feminist pastry chef, the only woman at the world chocolate championship
Born and raised in the pastry world, Anna is a culinary entrepreneur who works in the family business, a pastry shop in the historic town of Piccinelli. Enthusiastic about the future of the culinary arts, Anna aspires to make her mark in this world by creating something good not only for people, but also for the environment.
The only woman present at the Italian final of the World Chocolate Masters, which took place on February 2 in Pollenzo, won. Anna Gerasi arrived first in front of six colleagues above all thanks to the totally vegetable choice of the ingredients with which she prepared her desserts. An important victory for Anna, who reached the top step of the podium in this competition thanks to experimentation and the ability to get involved with only vegetable ingredients, which have in fact opened a new line of tomorrow's pastry. The final, held at the Selmi Chocolate Machinery headquarters, concluded after the seven candidates had worked on their creations, carrying out 5 different themes. The theme was: #TMRW, Tomorrow, or tomorrow's pastry shop. The competition was organized by Chocolate Academy Milano.
